Biography
I was born in Auburn, Ala. Soon after birth, I moved to Baton Rouge, La for my father's job. Six years later, my family returned to Auburn. I now attend Auburn University and will be graduating in December, 2008.
I enjoy being at home, spending time with my dog Maggie and spending time with my family. My mother and father are my rock. They have made me the person I am today, and I am forever grateful. My two brothers and my sister have also played a major role in my life. They have always challenged me and made me strive to better myself. Having a large family has taught me patience and persistence. I use these attributes in everything I do including school, work and friendships.
I started my college education at Auburn University in the fall of 2005. After struggling to identify a major, I finally found my home in public relations. I have always enjoyed writing and planning events and projects, so public relations was a perfect option. I also was drawn to the diversity that public relations has to offer. Upon graduation, I will be able to do so many things. I have the skills needed to plan events, work in corporate public relations or even do non-profit work. I will find the niche that best suits me and I will strive to become the best public relations professional that I can be.
Last summer, I served as an intern at the non-profit group, East Alabama Youth for Christ. I assisted in the planning of a golf tournament that served as their fundraiser for the quarter. During the internship period, I was given the opportunity to use the skills that I have acquired throughout my time at Auburn University. I also learned many on-the-job skills I can use in any future job that I may have.
